What is the Family Support Center?
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) is currently establishing or expanding Family Support Centers that are designed to address risk factors that may impact a family’s wellness and stability. These centers provide a safe and convenient location where families can receive or be referred to community-based supports and services.
The Wirt County Family Support Center development is under way and we are excited to begin offering services to our community!
Wirt FSC Parent Advisory Team
Volunteers Needed!
The Family Support Center is seeking volunteers to serve on our Parent Advisory Team. We are looking for parents, grandparents, or guardians that reside in Wirt County to help tailor our programs and services uniquely to Wirt County.
The Parent Advisory Team will help the Wirt County FSC by:
- Giving parent input regarding needed services and programs.
- Giving recommendations and sharing information gathered.
- Participating in the planning and execution of FSC events, activities, and programs.
- Promoting community and parental involvement.
- Representing community parents at the monthly Wirt FSC meetings held the first Tuesday of every month at 3 pm at the Wirt County FRN/FSC office.
