The West Virginia Family Resource Networks are organizations that respond to the needs and opportunities of the community. Partnering with community members and public and private organizations, the WVFRN members develop innovative projects and provide needed resources for their local areas.
At Wirt County Family Resource Network/Family Support Center, we take a holistic approach to community support. We believe that in order to truly support individuals and families, we must address all aspects of their lives, including physical health, mental health, and social support.
We work closely with a variety of community partners to ensure that we are meeting the needs of everyone in our community. Wirt County Pre-K Collaborative is accepting applications for Pre-K enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year. Please call Wirt County Primary Center at 304-275-4263 to schedule or for questions.
The Wirt County Family Resources Office is excited to announce the launch of a new, completely free, Teen and Young Adult Book Club, Strength in Stories, for Wirt County residents! Strength in Stories, sponsored by the Wirt County Family Resources office will hold their next meeting on April 24, 2025 at 4 pm at the Dora B. Woodyard Memorial Library. Books will be selected at the first meeting and will be provided to all participants. Teens and Young Adults ages 14-22 are eligible to join. Teens under the age of 18 wishing to join simply need parent/guardian permission. Call the office at 304-275-4833, or contact Jessica Shaffer on Facebook if you are interested in participating.
The Wirt County Family Support Center, in care of the Wirt County Family Resource Network, will be hosting a Community Baby Shower on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 10 am - 12 pm in the Elizabeth Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
Wirt County residents who are pregnant or have children under one are eligible. Please call the office at 304-275-4833 or 304-275-4834 to register.
The Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 19 at 3:00 pm at Sportsman's Park in Elizabeth! There are prizes for all age groups and over 2000 eggs hidden per age division!
The Wirt County Senior Citizen's Center will be hosting their annual Community Health Fair on May 22 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Wirt County Senior Citizen's Center. Vendors from over 20 locations will be on site to explore everything about health and living a healthy life.
